An Evening Judging the North East Hair & Beauty Awards - award winner to industry judge
An evening Judging the North East Hair & Beauty Awards - award winner to industry judge. Last Saturday was a pretty special one for me - I had the privilege of being a judge for the Aesthetics category at the North East Hair & Beauty Awards.
Having previously entered and won at the awards myself, being on the other side of the process felt like such a surreal, full-circle moment.
I know first hand how much work goes into an awards entry. It isn't just about the treatments you provide. It's about the business you've built, your client experience, your dedication to education and the passion you have for what you do.
As a judge, I had the opportunity to see the incredible talent within the North East aesthetics industry and hear about the businesses and practitioners behind the entries. Celebrating the North East aesthetics community
One of the things I love about the aesthetics industry in the North East is the amount of talent here. There are practitioners constantly investing in education, developing their skills, learning new techniques and building businesses they can be proud of.
Awards like the North East Hair & Beauty Awards give those practitioners an opportunity to step back from the day-to-day running of their businesses and celebrate what they've achieved, and I think that's important. Running an aesthetics clinic isn't always glamorous - Behind the Instagram posts are the late nights, early mornings, training days, consultations, admin, stock orders, treatment plans, difficult decisions and the constant pressure to keep learning and improving.
So being recognised for that work can mean a lot.
For me, good aesthetic medicine has always been about much more than creating a great result. It's about safety, knowledge, professionalism, natural-looking results and genuinely caring about the experience you give your clients - all things that are hugely important to me at AB Aesthetics Newcastle.
It was such a privilege to be involved in recognising other practitioners who are putting their time, energy and passion into their careers.
And honestly… going from entering and winning previously (both 2024 & 2025) at the awards to judging them is something I never imagined when I first started my aesthetics journey.
A very proud Saturday.
Congratulations to everyone who entered, and thank you so much to the North East Hair & Beauty Awards for having me!
